After a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Brian peacefully passed away Sunday March 7, 2021, surrounded by his family. He is now in the loving arms of God. **excerpt from You Raise Me Up – Josh Groban

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be.

Brian, Dad and our Bobba,

You raised us up many times throughout the years allowing us to be strong but lending your strength when needed. It is your love, your strength and our knowledge of your faith that will continue to hold us up.

Rae, Alex, Sarah-Jane, Martha, Stan, Emma, Greg, and Benjamin

Dear Rae, Alex, Sarah-Jane, Martha and family,
I am sorry to have learned from Mom that Brian passed away, and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Over the years my parents told me of run-in visits around town, with Brian and Rae, that they thoroughly enjoyed. I have such treasured memories of our years at Westminster, which feels like a lifetime ago! My heart is heavy with sorrow and I wish you comfort and peace as you grieve. No matter our age, it's never easy to lose a loved one.
Sincerely with love and sympathy,
Lesley Jean (McInnis) Vadnais

Lesley, Thank you so much for your condolences. We have many fond memories of you and your family during our years at Westminster. Martha was so pleased when I shared this with her. It does feel like a lifetime ago but the memories will always be there. Sarah-Jane

Rae and Family, My condolences on your loss. Brian was my grade 8 teacher in Athens. I was very fortunate to be able to stay in touch with Brian and Rae during my years of working in Perth.

Sarah-Jane Woods Posted at 04:22pm

Thank you for your condolences Tammy. Athens seems like it was so many years ago. I am glad that you were able to stay in touch with mom and dad through your years of working in Perth. -Sarah-Jane and family

Rae and families,
My sincere condolences at the passing of Brian. He loved life, learning and family. Brian has touched many lives over the years through his teaching and ministry. I was fortunate to have Brian as my teacher for 3 years ( I think there may have been one occasion where he may not have appreciated it?). I will always treasure the love of PEI both Brian and Rae shared during my visits to that wonderful island. Cherish the memories and the stories that Brian (aka dad and Bobba) played a starring role in.

Hello to Rae, Alex, Sarah Jane & Martha,
I am thinking of you at this sad time. Although Brian has not been well for some time , it is difficult to say the final good bye.
Brian was my Gr. 8 teacher, then we ended up working together at Pineview. Many laughs along the way.
Take care of your health in this mixed up world we are in.
Sincere condolences,
Bonnie La Forty

Bonnie, Thank you for your condolences. It is difficult to say good-bye but we know he is at peace. It is always neat to be taught by someone and then work along side with that person. Stay safe. -Sarah-Jane and family

My sincere sympathy to you Rae and your family. I remember a very pleasant man in his days and years at Lombardy School.

Sarah-Jane Woods Posted at 12:56pm

Lena, thank you for your condolences. Dad enjoyed his time with the staff and students while at Lombardy School. Dad loved being a teacher and I don't think I ever once heard him complain about all the extra hours that he put in. -Sarah-Jane and family
