Alice L Castle (nee Fetterly) passed gently into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Martha in Kincardine, ON. Her strong faith has now become sight. Alice was born in Cornwall, ON. When she was just two years old, her mother died and she and her sister Melba were adopted and raised by their grandparents, Lu and Harry Hollister. In 1938 Alice married her loving husband, “Stan The Man” Castle, and together they raised nine children in Cornwall. She will be remembered by her children, Marilyn Forrest (Dr. Bill, deceased), Kingston, Bob and Lynn Castle (Brockville), Susan and Harry Kleinhuis (Parry Sound), Brenda and Ken Bartlett (Elginburg), Harry and Marg Castle (Chesterville), Ted and Irene Castle (Cornwall), Philip and Gwen Castle (Kemptville), Tim (deceased) and Lorraine Castle (Red Lake), Martha and Harvey Lootsma (Kincardine) (Randy Jolliffe, deceased). Alice is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and eight great greats. In their retirement Stan and Alice had many happy years in Kingston, Bedford Mills and Westport. Donations may be made to the Gideons International.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private burial will be taking place with a Memorial Service to be held at a later date.

So many, many wonderful memories! Alice was "Gramma Castle" to so many more than just her own family. She & Stan shared their home and their family. She loved to laugh, spoke freely of her life experience and the importance of our walk with the Lord. We have missed her greatly these last years but rejoice she now has peace in her final rest.

While my sympathy goes out to the whole family, I send along particularly warm thoughts to Jeffrey, an old friend.
I never met Alice, however I heard many stories over the years from my father, Irvine. He always speaks with such fondness when he reminisces about Alice.
I’m so sorry for your loss!

To the Castle family my heartfelt sympathy to you all. So remember your big home on Elm and your grand island that fed many family and friends! Sincerely a Cumberland neighbour and co-worker of Brenda. Valerie Jeaurond Lihou
