Randy Jolliffe passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014 surrounded by family and friends in Newmarket, Ontario. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years Martha (nee Castle) and three sons Zac (Tracy), Ben (Jen), and Pete (Heather). Proud grandpa to Sara, Levi, Talia, Caleb, and Luke. Loved son of Ray and Ella Jolliffe of Burlington, Ontario; brother of Carol Jolliffe of Lethbridge, Alberta. He will also be missed by the extended Castle family.
Randy completed studies at Ontario Bible College (B. Th., 1980), Ontario Theological Seminary (M. Div., 1987) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (D. Min., 1994). Randy served as a pastor in Orillia, Listowel, Cambridge, and Alliston, his ministry spanning 34 years. Randy had a pastor’s heart. He was a gentle man, kind and compassionate, who always had time to listen, counsel and encourage. He liked to spend his time reading, building and cheering on the Jays and the Leafs. He was known in his Everett neighbourhood for playing sports with the local kids at the bus stop and for hosting community events.
In life he was a giver and that continued through his death. Randy donated organs through the Trillium Foundation so that others will live because of his gift. The family is grateful to all those who have supported them in this difficult time, as well as the staff at Southlake Regional Hospital. Randy’s favourite verse is Proverbs 18:10: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous man runs into it and is saved.”
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on July 10th at 11am at Knox Presbyterian Church, King St. S in Alliston, ON. For more details, visit: www.faithcommunity.ca
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideons International or Faith Community Church in Alliston.
