Obituary for Jeffrey Anweiler
Anweiler: Jeffrey William April 6, 1961-January 3, 2022
Peacefully after a long battle with liver disease, Jeff Anweiler of Lyndhurst in his 61st year has sadly passed away. He leaves to mourn his loved and loving wife Angela Gayle, his stepsons Darien and Liam Smith, his stepdaughter Stacy Anweiler and his daughter Sarah Michel.
He also leaves behind three grandchildren Hailey Jenner, Katana Anweiler and Eryk Smith who belovedly called him “Opa”. Jeff was the beloved son of Joan Strack (the late Robert Preston) of Portland and William Anweiler who pre-deceased him in 1995. His Anweiler sisters, Patricia (Bob Johnston) of Toronto, Rebecca (Lorraine Chick) of Kingston, Jane (Chris Sherrin) of London and their children Conor, Tobey and Keiran, along with his older brother Bruce Hanley (Cindy Brotherston) of Beaverton, Ontario and their children grieve his loss.
He is also survived by cousins across the country with whom he shared a happy and loving relationship spanning many years. His paternal Uncle Jack Anweiler (Liz) of Winona and daughters Laura and Lisa Anweiler also grieve his loss.Jeff was a proud sailor who served in Canada’s Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard, latterly as Boatswain of the “Griffon” on the Great Lakes for a combination of some 40 years. His loss, to his family and friends is enormous. A memorial service is being planned for sometime in the Spring of 2022.
