Obituary for Johnathan Joseph Norwood

Norwood, Johnathan “JJ”

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Johnathan “JJ” Norwood. He passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the age of 40. He leaves behind his son Trent Mason Day-Norwood.

Johnathan was the loving son of Colleen Mooney and John Norwood (late Ann Savage).

He will be dearly missed by his sister Carla Schonauer (Brian), and his brothers Ray Valliquette and Vance Valliquette (Michelle).

Johnathan will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, many cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends, including Brittany MacDonald and Trina, Doug and Tom Savage.

He was a special Uncle JJ to his nieces Kensley and Emma Schonauer, who will miss his fun-loving ways and great sense of humour.

We wish to thank all the staff and medical team along with his family and friends at The Oaks for all their care and compassion and support they gave to Johnathan over his time with them.

Johnathan loved all animals, science and nature. He loved to read, play video games, build Lego, teach others, and help out where he could. But most of all he loved his son Trent.

He went through many rough years and persevered with strength and courage until the end. Johnathan touched the hearts of many with his beautiful mind, and a loving and caring soul. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

In memory of Johnathan, donations can be made to the Shepherds of Good Hope, and to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

A Private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Lyons Funeral Home, Westport, ON. Online condolence available www.lyonsfuneralhome.ca
