Mary (May) Elizabeth La Hay (nee McFarlan)
February 27, 1936 – August 29, 2021
Gently and peacefully at Perth Hospital, in her 86th year, with her daughters by her side.
Predeceased by beloved husband R Gordon (Gord) La Hay and younger brother J. Campbell Duffy.
Caring and supportive mother of Shelley E. La Hay (Mario) and H. Amanda La Hay (Mike).
Cherished Grandmother of Erin N. Fedoriw (Dustin).
Loving sister of Helen (Elma) Walker (Larry).
May will be fondly remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
The family would like to thank all who supported them throughout the summer during May’s hospitalization and acknowledge the shared grief in the community.
Whether with friends or family, at community events, church, or owning and operating Gord’s Dairy Bar, those who knew May can attest to her gentleness, genuine nature, sense of humour and eagerness to help others.
Friends are invited to share memories with family Friday, September 24th, 2021 at Lyons Funeral Home, Westport, ON, between the hours of 6 – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Westport United Church or the Westport Public Library would be appreciated by the family.
