It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Nicholas Murphy, born in Kingston, Ontario April 22nd, 1943. Peter passed away on May 3rd, 2020 in Selby, Ontario at Village Green Nursing Home. Peter enjoyed life outdoors and worked for many years as a labourer on farms in the area of Westport, Bedford and Godfrey. Peter will be sadly missed by his sisters Sharon Wells (wife of the late James Wells) and Jean Pennell and her husband Glenn Pennell. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as the many people who knew him as their friend. Son of the late Alphonse and Marguerite Murphy (nee.Walsh), and predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Joseph Murphy, sisters Rita Bender (Garth), Florence Mohan (Jay), Joan Webb (Jack), Ann Kingshott (Morley). The family would like to thank the Village Green Nursing Home staff for the excellent care they have provided Peter over the last 3 years and a special thanks to his nephew Dean Pennell and his wife Sheri for the extra care and support during these years. A private family funeral will be held at Lyons Funeral Home (51 Concession Street, Westport, ON K0G 1X0) at 11am on Wednesday, May 13th , 2020.
