OLSZEWSKI, TADEUSZ (Ted)

Ted passed away peacefully at his home on Devil Lake on Friday August 11, 2017 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by his son Michael. Left to honour his memory are his wife of 65 years, Hanna (nee Jaczynska) his daughters, Dorothy Olszewski-Williams and Yvonne Olszewski, his sister Barbara Grabowski, his grandchildren Matthew Williams, Shelly Fairbairn and Krystyna Olszewski and great grandchildren Kaleb and Ethan Fairbairn and family and friends throughout the world.

Ted was born in Poland in 1926 where his childhood years were spent in an affluent, loving family. Having to flee their beloved home and country during WWII, going through many countries and surviving many dangers, the family ended up in Britain where Ted received his engineering degree, and met his wife, Hanna. In 1954 they emigrated, with their 4-month old son, to Canada, his chosen second country. He gave Canada his utmost energy and talents and, in turn Canada gave him and his family a good, happy life.

Ted loved life, travelling, exploring and interactions with people. He treasured his family and his friendships.

Celebrations of his life will take place in:

Westport on Saturday September 9th at the North Crosby Hall, Shellington Park, Westport at 2:30 PM and;

Ottawa on Saturday September 23rd at HMCS CARLETON, 79 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa at 2:30 PM.

Donations in his memory may be made to Salvation Army or the KGH Cancer Centre.
