Obituary for Margaret Crichton

Passed away suddenly June 10, 2019 at the age of 77. She was born June 20, 1941, one of 15 siblings on Westport Mountain, to Howard and Mary (Norwood) Traynor. She attended St. Edward Catholic School and went on to teacher’s college in Ottawa where she met Neil Crichton of Melville, Saskatchewan who was serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. They were married in St. Edward’s Church on married July 27, 1963. They had two children, Howard (Tracy Ferguson) and Kim Kelly (Burke), and were posted to Ottawa, Holberg, North Bay, Great Falls, Moisie and Biloxi before returning to the family homestead in 1980. She was a teacher at St. Edward’s from 1983 until 2004. Margie is survived by her children and their spouses, grandchildren Chelsea Kelly (Ken) and Riley (Hanna) Kelly, brother Johnny (Karen) Traynor and sisters Noreen Donovan, Dorothy McCann, Jeannie Skuce and Pat (Glen) McNichols and sisters in-law Betsy Traynor and Gwen Traynor. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Theresa (Jim) Brown, Rosie Lloyd, Joannie (Ron) Fraser, brothers Robert, Gerry, Tommy, Leo, Mike (Viola), Frank and daughter-in-law Shari Crichton (Murphy). Visitation will be at Lyons Funeral Home in Westport Wednesday, June 12 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be at St. Edward Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 followed by interment at St. Edward Cemetery.
