Obituary for William Leonard Mugford
MUGFORD, William Leonard, C.D.
August 19, 1918 – April 30, 2019
On Tuesday, April 30th William Leonard Mugford, in his 100th year, passed away peacefully at the Perth Community Care Centre in Perth, Ontario.
A gentle man, always well-read and well informed, with a sharp mind until recent years when age began to take its toll.
Leonard was predeceased by his former wife of 15 years, Elivia (Ialenti) Giovannetti and by his daughter Christine Caryl Anne (Mugford) Gilbert. Leonard will be remembered for his dedicated service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, having served Canada for 25 years, both in WWII and as a UN peacekeeper at el Arish in the Sinai. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Pearl, Nellie, Gladys, Muriel, and Dorothy (Betty) and his grandchildren Stefanie Anne Potter and Bruce Robert Potter.
